With the price of gas, groceries, and everything else on the rise, it is hard to find the cash to do that feel-good simple upgrade on our Jeeps. Jeep parts aren't immune to the recent price hikes that everything has been seeing; with the price of steel and other expenditures, manufacturers need to pass their increased cost of day-to-day operations along.

Don't get us wrong, we don't fault them for it, but it has made finding good, sub-$100 parts for our Jeeps almost impossible. With the theme for this issue being cheap Jeeps, we decided to see what kind of cool, simple modifications we could round up for less than a C-note.

Formed BucketsThese floorliners from WeatherTech are basically buckets that perfectly contour to the floorboard of your Jeep. They are made out of heavy-duty rubber and will help keep those random leaks from attacking that floorboard sheetmetal, not to mention resist damage to the underlying paint due to abrasion. They retail for just under 100 bucks, which is a bargain considering all that they can do. Even with an aftermarket rear bumper, one good pull is often enough to tear the factory welds and leave you with a half-attached crossmember. These Frame Plates from M.O.R.E. are only $79, are made from 3/16-inch steel, and are precut and drilled to your '76-'95 CJ or YJ pattern. The upper panel provides a place to put a wallet or cell phone, while the lower provides an out-of-the-way, yet convenient place to mount auxiliary switches. 	Deep Cycle CPRIf your dry cell, deep-cycle battery is dead from sitting or not charging, and a normal battery charger won't charge it, you should check out the Xtreme charger from PulseTech. This little unit can tell you when there is an overcharging condition and when the battery needs to be recharged, and it monitors starting performance, cold-cranking health, and charging system voltage. The federal government sees the sideview mirrors on all Wranglers as safety equipment, and so even if your doors are gone, the mirrors need to be there. Omix-Ada has four different designs in several colors (starting around $30) to take care of any '87-'08 Wrangler mirror location needs.
