Fountain of Youth
The old lady always tells us that she wants a mud bath to help maintain that youthful appearance, but it wasn't until Chris Chester of Perry Hall, Maryland, sent in some pictures of his '97 TJ that we understood why. After wheeling our Jeep like that, we always feel more rejuvenated too. TheI-4 spins the stock five-speed and a new NP231. A 2-inch spring lift and 1-inch body lift clear way for the 33x12.50R15 Cooper Discoverer STTs spun by the stock open axles with a ton of skinny pedal providing the motivation. A Warn XD9000 resides on the front bumper for when Chris runs into trouble.

Mostly a Jeep
We were reading Mike Gagos' description of the year, make, and model, and it says: "Year: '89 (mostly), Make: Jeep Cherokee (mostly)." That's the closest to the truth we've seen. The suspension works out to about 7 inches of lift and clears 35x12.50R15 Goodyear MT/Rs, while Bilstein 5125 shocks in the front and 5150s in the rear keep the tires under control. A Cherry Bomb provides the muffling for the 4.0, and the factory Mopar transfer-case skid and gas-tank skid keep the underbody components safe.
M-677
This might be the nicest M-677 we've seen. The '64 belongs to Dan DeVries of Northwood, Iowa, and is largely stock. The three-cylinder Cerlist Diesel still provides power to the T-90 three-speed manual transmission, Spicer 18 transfer case, stock Dana 44 front, and Spicer 53 rear with 4.88 gears. The stock front and rear leaves provide enough clearance for the 7.50x16 NDT tires. With only 12,000 miles on the clock, this is a great example of a survivor.
